Painting by Bicycle

packed up to go painting

I just got back from painting at Halcyon Coffee House and Bar on Fourth Street, which is about 45 city blocks from my house.  It was a very easy ride with a lot of one-way streets after I entered the university area.

I was more careful to pack my crate and balance it after falling off my bike this weekend.  I was reaching for the pedestrian crosswalk light change button and it was humpty-dumpty for me!  Luckily, I lived to paint again.

Later, I will try and write about painting people in public, and upload a few new paintings. I am too tuckered out tonight.

I painted yesterday at Halcyon Coffee House and Bar.  This is the first time that I have painted there.  I am always afraid upon my initial visit to a new place to paint publically.  I imagine the worst sort of things: somebody gets mad at me for painting them, I spill something, I get paint on somebody, the waitstaff demands that I leave, etc.  The only thing that gets me out the door, really, is that I need the exercise.

I was only able to get two paintings.  I spent some time on a third, but it was awful.  Tomorrow, I will try to post some more about technique, since the barristra and a few customers had some interesting questions that I would like to share with you.

Would you like for me to describe the interior space and how I feel about them?  Let me know!  I don’t want to bore anyone.
