I have one more painting of Lacey Roop that I will download tomorrow.  I haven’t heard her perform at the poetry slams here in Austin, but she won this year’s competition in the city.  Ryan, her coworker tells me that she is amazing, and that her poems are “classical and romantic”.  I was quite happy that he told me that because the paintings that I did of her are very soft and dreamy – which is kind of different than the Lacey that you might see in person.  She looks like a tall, lanky tom-boy with dreadlocks.  Can’t wait to do some more paintings at Cafe Caffeine of both Ryan and Lacey.

Drawing with a brush – yes. I am reading a novel about the painting by Pierre-Auguste Renoir: Luncheon of the Boating Party. I’m guessing, if you like fiction, you would enjoy this book. Why? At the very least is the fact that Renoir made this painting totally without any prior studies in any medium, just direct to canvas. While the book is fiction certain aspects such as that are fact and are fascinating. Bless your liberated spirit. Paint on and thanks for sharing these.

    Hi, Owen.

Thank you for the Renoir suggestion. I love to read biographies of artists.

WOW, I just can’t help myself but to admire those paintings. I have always been a painting enthusiast and this is a perfect shot for me. I wish I have a good talent like that to create a beautiful artwork like that. Thanks for sharing your paintings and keep up the good work.

    Regards,
    John

    Hi, John.

    Thanks for that, John.

You know, if you desire to paint, you probably could. Look at my older posts on painting technique to help you build a foundation of understanding. If more people respond to my posts on technique, I will be happy to share that in a weekly post.

In the meantime, keep training your eye with your photography (a medium that I suck at!)

Thank you and please keep visiting –
