I really liked the cap and crazy hair
Some people just look great in hats, and this girl was one of them. She had on a Bolshevik cap, with silver tab button on the side. Her hair was blonde, and had a mind of its own. I decided to change color palettes to compliment the Ruskie look, sort of influenced by Malevich and Rodchenko. I wanted it to look like an old Soviet poster. This painting is very small – not my usual 9×12. It measures about 3×5.

cool technique
Hi, Richard.
Love the beret. If you lived here instead of the UK, I would definitely paint you!
Thank you,
Lavanna
wow, you’re getting better and better!
Hey, there Marc.
Well, I went to San Francisco, and I truly love Mario’s Cigar Bar. I want to paint there! I really want to go back in the fall and just paint. I couldn’t do it this time. Maybe we can meet at a coffee house when I come back, huh? LOVE your watercolors. I’m soooo bad at that medium. You deserve to have every success – you’re that good.
Thanks,
Lavanna
Fabulous! So direct and lifelike and wonderfully free.
