She was really studying something on her laptop with great intent

This is one of the only 2 paintings that I was able to do while I was on vacation out in Marin County recently. My sister-in-law dropped me off at this coffee house in San Raphael. I was really nervous, since it was my first attempt outside of Austin. I just loved her pink ruffly shirt, long hair, and she looked smart. If you read my blog, you’ll know that I’m a sucker for smart people. I wish that I would  had more time to paint while I was out there.  I’m planning to go back out in the fall, and paint and hike, paint and hike!

    This reminds me of Degas’ “A Glass of Absinthe”. She has a similar look in her eyes but obviously not from alcohol.
