I’ve been working; some of you may be wondering. I have formed an art club with three artist friends that I worked with at Les Amis almost 30 years ago. At our weekly meetings, we have been going to Spider House, and drawing for 4 to 5 hours. They are not into painting, so I have been drawing with them “live”. It is good; we need to keep our hand and head healthy with this fine practice. So, instead of not posting at all, I have decided to post one of my many sketches that I have done with my good friends, Lauren and Julie.
This guy was sitting in one of the broken gliders, discussing some issues with a very large Hispanic man. He must have been the punk rocker’s agent, as I overheard him complaining about another band member “Strangling my style”.

Oh, now, I really like this. I’m a big fan of sketching and drawing….I especially like gesture drawings: loose, quick sketches that just capture the motion and immediate essence of shape. Yes!

Hi, Scott.
It took me a while to get used to sketching i/o painting, because I was so rusty. It is fun, though.

Very nice.
Surely you can sketch with paints as well?
Just grab an ochre colour, water and a single brush. Dont even bother mixing colors for this kind of thing, limit it to 2 or 5 mins…

Hi, Raymond.
I’ll have to try that.
Wonderful. do you keeping your drawings since 30 years ago?
i can see another sketch behind the paper.
Hi, there – Mohsen!
Unfortunately, I have thrown away all of my sketches from those years. I did find one, however, very recently. I used to go to an amusement park in San Antonio, and draw the roller coaster.

You know someone is good at art when even a quick doodle has some sort of expression. It really screams this is a punk rock person. lol Of course, after tracing the fine lines, adding more depth, and color, this would be a lot better. I pretty much like to doodle too, but that’s the extent of my skills. :D)
